Zaragoza/Torrijos, September 28, 2026. Ebroacero consolidates its growth roadmap through a strategic operation on the national industrial map. The historic Zaragoza company, a benchmark with more than sixty years of experience in the foundry of large-tonnage carbon steel components, has announced the acquisition of the Toledo-based firm FTR, located in Torrijos (Toledo).
With this move, the group is substantially diversifying its product portfolio. FTR brings over two decades of experience specializing in the casting of ductile iron, alloyed iron, and low-alloy materials. The integration will allow the group to handle smaller orders (up to 1,500 kilograms) and provide access to materials that it has not previously operated on in its main plant.
«What we were looking for was to expand our product range by incorporating other qualities such as stainless steel, iron and alloy steel» Ignacio Giménez, general director of Ebroacero, explains «Sometimes we receive inquiries about parts that we couldn’t manufacture because they are not made of carbon steel, but which we will now be able to supply through FTR.».
FTR maintains its identity and expands the industrial capacity of Ebroacero
The acquisition will not entail the disappearance of the FTR brand, which will maintain its identity and independent operation, backed by the infrastructure and knowledge of Ebroacero. The operational complementarity will facilitate the sharing of commercial, technical, and administrative teams, enhancing service to common customers.
It is planned to double the staff at the Castilian-Manchega plant from 15 to around 30 employees, raising the group's total workforce above 120 workers.
One of the main projects associated with the acquisition is the launch of a new stainless steel foundry line at the FTR facilities in Torrijos. Ebroacero has already initiated the necessary investments by acquiring the furnaces and the required machinery, with the aim of obtaining the first samples during the upcoming summer.
With this project, Ebroacero takes a new step in expanding its activity and lays the foundations for developing a specialized line in stainless steel. The operation will allow the company to tackle new projects, handle a greater diversity of orders, and continue growing alongside its customers through a broader and more flexible industrial offering.
Two industrial foundry plants for projects in Spain and international markets
This initiative responds to market demand and offers a competitive solution from Spain. Ebroacero’s international vocation is not new; it has been part of the company’s DNA since its inception. Now, the goal is to project this same global vision onto the Torrijos facilities to significantly expand the client portfolio, both domestically and internationally.
«We have the necessary capacity and experience to handle projects both nationally and internationally, adapting to the needs of each client and reaching wherever we are needed,» points out Ignacio.
The group is thus structured around two complementary locations, Zaragoza and Torrijos, from which it provides service to both the Spanish market and projects outside our borders.
Manufacture of customized iron and steel parts with technical advice
True to its philosophy of work, Ebroacero will maintain the model of comprehensive customer support, which covers everything from preliminary technical advice and custom-made manufacturing based on the design, to machining, technical verification, and quality control.
The goal is to offer the customer a complete solution and deliver finished parts ready for assembly, reducing the need to coordinate with different suppliers and facilitating the management of each project.
